Ableton Live — программное обеспечение для музыкантов. Уникальность Ableton Live в её универсальности. Программа одинаково хорошо подходит как для студийной работы (название режима: Arrangement), так и работы в реальном времени, то есть DJ-инг (название режима: Session). В режиме «Arrangement» создание композиции происходит путём создания миди и аудиоклипов, постепенного продвигаясь по временной шкале вперёд.(аналогично CuBase, Logic, Sonar). Режим «Session» раскрывает уникальные возможности для DJ-ев, позволяя не просто сводить 2-а трека, а создать целую композицию с нуля в режиме реального времени. Ableton Live поддерживает ряд современных технологий: ASIO, VST, ReWire. Имеет несколько собственных инструментов, и самый необходимый набор аудио-эффектов. Встроенных возможностей вполне достаточно для создания превосходных композиций.
